Today I bring you Pencil Me In Healthy Eyeliner Pencils in Denim which is a blue eyeliner between the color of sky blue and the Microsoft Blue Screen of Death. I received this as part of my April Sindulge Box. I was super excited to receive some makeup – I like makeup and I’d seen some other’s boxes that were not really makeup oriented – though that is probably what they discussed with their consultant.
So how did this perform?
The pencil is mostly soft and easy to pull across your eye, but it is hard enough to tug a little. The wood sharpens easily, but like all wood items it can splinter and crack. The color is true and stays on a good 8 hours. This is priced like drugstore liners but I think it is higher quality – not as high as luxury brands, but still really good – and it comes in all sorts of colors that most brands don’t carry.
Each Pencil comes with a built in cap sharpener so that you can keep a nice tip on your liner – I sort of like this idea, but it seems a bit mesy, and I accidentally sharpened mine a bit when putting it away, but definitely not bad enough to count as a negative.
As you can hopefully see, if you press too hard the pencil will leave little clumps of color (look at the top of the D and the left side of the E in Denim). This particular color looked a little metalic – which was pretty cool to me.
For this look I used the blue only to line my waterline – this was coupled with a fairly neutral eye which seems to be a trend this spring. It worked ok on my waterline, but it definitely looked better as a normal liner, but this look photographed better.
The only other thing I really have to say about this product is that it was nearly impossible to find the size information for the full size product. I could see it on mine since it was in my hand, but looking it up, including on the Pencil me in website, I had a horrible time finding the full size’s size. Eventually on something like page 20 of google I did eventually find it.
Would I buy this again? Probably in a different color (since I already have this one)
Will I finish the sample? I’ll keep using it until it goes bad
